the (chinese) new year
Life has been a liiittle hectic lately so I haven’t had the chance to post regularly about work, or life. So I’m going to cheat and do my new year post according to the Chinese calendar, because I can!
I mentioned a bit about how most of my year went and then traveled to New York, LA and Vegas and went straight back to work as soon as I returned, right up to the end of 2011.
My trip gave me a lot of time to catch up with friends a.k.a. family away from home, celebrate life, shoot the PAYNE S/S ‘12 Lookbook and Becs, Mel, Nicole, Louise, Sam and Jeanette for How I Met Your Style (HIMYS), and meet up with Wale, Noah, Rich (and through him, Bettina!), Bianca, and Rog. I suggest you go ahead and click through to all of them because they’re all amazing people doing beautiful things. It was definitely a blessed and productive trip.
In Hong Kong, I’ve been grateful for the opportunity to contribute to Prestige Magazine, South China Morning Post, Post Magazine, My Place Magazine, Whitespace, Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, and Lane Crawford. Huge thanks to all the editors, writers, and art directors for being such a pleasure to work with! I’ll share some of my favorite and recent work from last year below this post :)
Year of the rabbit came to an end with HIMYS getting mentions by Naomi Nevitt (teenvogue.com editor) on refinery29.com and on Nylon’s blog! Ken and I are excited about where the project is going…we’ve been having Skype meetings :) However, we’re a little worried about Kodak filing for bankruptcy. We’ll have to start hoarding loads of film since we shoot the most with Kodak! SAD.
Not quite sure what to expect this year since last year was pretty crazy; didn’t expect a lot of the good things that happened.
For now I’m just excited to be in HK celebrating Chinese New Year for the first time since 2000. I’m ready to gorge on turnip cake and happily receive some red packets! I hope your year of the dragon is overflowing with love, happiness, and health! :)
